Journalists encouraged to be focused despite the murder of Investigative Journalists, Ahmed Hussein

Ghanaian Journalists have been encouraged to be strong and carry out their work without fear, but consider their security as paramount.

This comes in the wake of the attack and shooting to death of a Member of Anas’ Tiger PI Investigative Team on Wednesday, January 16 night by some unknown assailants.

This has stirred panic reactions from media practitioners across the country, with the social media flooded with mixed reactions on the death of Ahmed Hussein .

Spokesperson for National Chief Imam, Sheik Aremeyaw Shaibu is therefore calling on Journalist not to loose focus though it is a horrifying situation.

“This should not discourage Journalists from doing their duties. They are now described as the fourth Estate of the realm and they are those who scout for news; they observe what is happenings. They are the eyes and ears of the communities. … if this door is closed, we are doomed, there is no way we can get information from high places. People should learn to accept the work of Journalists and respect what they do. It is good for our democracy and development as a country.” Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu encouraged noted.
