With the right and timely support, we will go places – Upper East Regional Athletics Coach

Upper East Regional Athletes Coach John Ali Atia, has established that the region is endowed with talents as far as the discipline is concerned, but they are scattered across the region and cannot be gathered and groomed due to lack of support.

“Most of the athletes are in secondary schools and are mostly denied permission to come to justify their inclusion into teams that represent the region in championship outside the region. Aside this challenge some Athletics Coaches are reluctant in coming out to help regional activities which is not good for the growth of the sports.”

Coach Ali as popularly known is however excited about the individual effort of the various Senior High Schools.

Coach Ali encouraged all sports boys and girls who have potentials and are interested in the sports, to dream big and pursue their dreams because the opportunities are vast.

“… if you love it, pursue it; a lot of athletes have hit the lime light by taking the first step which is training and waiting for greatness. If Lariba Zakart could make it from the Upper East Region, why can’t you?”
