Three Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested in Upper East

The Upper East Regional Police Command on Wednesday, 28 July 2021, arrested three persons for the robbery incident which occurred on the 28th October 2020 in the Gbane Mining site at Tongo. They are Isaac Kolong aged 19, Aka Lek a.k.a Mandela aged 32 and David Batame aged 22. The three, believed to be involved in several armed robbery cases in the Gbane mining enclave in the Talensi District, were arrested at various hideouts within the Obuasi mining community in Gbane. Items retrieved from them include seven BB cartridges, one unregistered motorbike, and a bayonet. The suspects have named their accomplices who are currently on the run but are being pursued. They are advised to surrender to the nearest Police Station or be fished out from their hide-outs. The Police assure informants of the strictest confidentiality and therefore continue to urge the public to support our work of ensuring the safety of communities with credible information.
