Members of the Distance Education Students Association of Ghana (DESAG) from the Upper East Region are participating in the on-going National Sports Festival at the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.
The three day sports festival is the first edition and the team from the Upper East Region has promised to lift the flag of the region high to prove a point that the region has sporting talents and deserve places in the University of Cape Coast Team for this year’s Inter-University Games.
The Upper East DESAG Delegation made up DESAG Regional Executives, players and athletes arrived safely in Cape Coast on Thursday May 23 and will be participating in competition including Soccer, Volleyball and some track events including 4 x 4 Relay, 100 and 200 meters.
On the day of the National Sports Festival Upper East won 200 meters female and placed second in the female 4×4 Relay Race. Upper East also won the female volleyball match against Central Region.
In the male soccer match, Upper East DESAG wiped the Brong Ahafo DESAG by 2 goals.
