Former MP for Gomoah central and Deputy Gender Minister Hon. Rachel Appoh has revealed that she will not contest her seat at the Gomoa Central because of former president John Dramani Mahama.

Hon Rachel Appoh made this revelation on Vim Talk show, hosted by Afia Pokua.

The NDC politician stated that she will sacrifice her all to support John Mahama to attain power coming 2020. She emphasized that the suffering under the current government (NPP) is suffocating Ghanaians hence the recent “kum yen preko” demonstration.

“JDM must surely come back”, she emphasized.

Rachel Appoh further touched on the major expenses she made during the last 2016 primary elections. She explain further that she spent more than she expected in the 2016 elections being another reason why she doesn’t want to contest coming 2020.

In her estimation, she and her other colleague Benita Sena Okity Duah lost their seats even ahead of the elections because of the issues they had with Hon Nana Oye Lithur. Benita Sena Okity Duah served as a Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection. This is another reason why she had decided not to context her seat in the coming elections, Rachel Appoh explained.

She revealed that so far, three people have showed interest in contesting the election. She has vouched to support anyone who wins her former seat coming 2020.
