The world of football has been rocked with the sad news that former Newcastle United and Ivory Coast midfielder Cheick Tiote has  collapsed and died whiles training with his new club Beijing Enterprises in China. The 30 year old Ivorian only joined the club in February this year after spending 7 seasons with Newcastle United in England.
“It is with deep sadness I confirm that Cheick Tiote sadly passed away earlier today after collapsing in training”,said spokesman Emmanuel Palladino.
Tiote was a member of the Ivory Coast side that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015. He has also played for the likes of Anderlecht and FC Twente, where he won the Dutch Eredivise title in 2010 under former England manager Steve Mclaren.
His most memorable moment in England came in February 2011 when he struck the equalizer,a 25-yard volley, as  Newcastle United came from 4-0 down to draw 4-4 with Arsenal. That was his only goal for Newcastle in more than 150 appearances.
