Sports Ministry commended for extending support to the North

Contrary to claims that Ghana’s Sports Ministry refused to help many Ghanaian Journalists to travel to Egypt to cover the on-going Total African Cup of Nation, some Journalists covering the tournament for the first time, have commended the Ministry for spreading the support to cover the North.

In the past, hardly did a Sports Journalists or Presenters operating in the Northern part of the country get the opportunity to travel with a National Team to a tournament, and so if for nothing at all, the Minister of Sports, Isaac Asiamah should rather be commended for spreading the opportunity wider than just to Accra and Kumasi.

For the first time a Sport Journalist from the Upper East Region has traveled to cover an international tournament and as she reports from Egypt on daily basis, others are motivated to work harder, believing that their time will come.

On many occasions football enthusiasts have been excited when they see players from the Upper East Region in Ghana’s various National Teams, just as Sports Journalists are to hear the voice of their colleague from Egypt.
