Sport Minister happy with work done on Youth Resource Center at Navrongo

The Minister of Sport, Isaac Asiamah, is satisfied with the rate of work on the Youth Resource Center being constructed at Navrongo in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality and has given assurance that it will be a world class infrastructure with standard sports facility for the Upper East Region, after completion, just like others that are being constructed across the country.

The Minister gave the assurance when he inspected work done on Youth Resource Center at Navrongo, when he paid a working visit to the site as part of a nationwide inspection of on-going works on similar projects across the country.

According to the Sports Minister, even though the contractor is behind schedule, he was happy with the rate of work done so far. The contractor has 9 months to execute the project.

“…yes, though the contractor fails to complete the project at the estimated time, we are still impressed with the work. Why do I say so, this sport center is a national assert which should be able to stand in the test of time, so shoddy works will not be accepted. I believe the contractor is doing a wonderful work. Unlike some road contractors that will not take their time to work on a project and will like to complete their project at the same estimated time yet, after three years, one cannot pass on that road.” He noted.

The Minister also assured that if the center is completed, it will help minimize criminal activities among youth in the region.

“We all know that in every state, sport play a key role in youth development, without hesitation, this center will definitely help reduce crime rate in the region as well as the country at large.” He said.
