NPP Inaugurates Regional Campaign Team In Upper East

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has inaugurated a 34- member campaign team tasked to retain party in power and also increase the parliamentary seats of the party in the region in the upcoming December 7,2020 general elections.

Speaking at the inauguration, NPP Upper East Regional Chairman, Lawyer Anthony Namoo, said, the party will campaign on the NPP’s unprecedented achievements to retain power and increase their parliamentary seats.

“Never in the history of the party in recent times, have a launching of a campaign team been giving so much prominence. There is a saying that perfect planning brings perfect performance and you can see how perfect we have planned this exercise’’.

For her part, the Upper East regional Minister Tangoba Abayage who is also a member of the campaign team, was confident the abysmal performance of the NDC will keep it in opposition .

“Whether the NDC likes it or not, we have it on record that we have performed far far better than them”.

Madam Abayage, chided NDC for only constructing 10 percent of the Bolgatanga-Bawku road within their 8 years in power, however, boosting that the NPP under the leadership of President Akufo Addo three and half years, the Bolgatanga-Bawku road has already seen 50 percent completion.

Deputy National campaign manager and Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid during his inaugural speech stressed that, often times, people accused the party for not communicating their achievements to Ghanaians , but he believes that shouldn’t be the case because, the party has done a lot such that, they can’t communicate all their achievements.

“Well, sometimes I agree and sometimes I disagree. The reason I disagree is that, if you have so many achievements, it becomes so much within a short period of time, certainly you are not going to communicate all of them because the achievements are many.

But assuming we have achieved only one, two or three things it will be easy to keep on repeating the things. If any Minister will come and stand here, if you give him one hour he won’t be able to finish and Candidate John Mahama knows this. In his thinking, what we have achieved in 3 years, it’s looks to him like 8 years, he cannot believe that all these achievements we have done it within three and half years”.

However, the Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development Mustapha Hamid proceeded with the inaugural ceremony of the 34 campaign member team, as he advised them to be focused because their goal is to retain NPP in power.

Most of notable party dignities representing in the region and national were present to offer their support and few amongst them are the Deputy Attorney General and Member of Parliament for Tempane, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hanan Abdul Wuhab, and Deputy CEO Youth Employment Authority Ibrahim Bashiru and other national members.
