LG G6: The God of flagships

After the huge failure of last year’s flagship, the LG G5, the company has left no page unturned to not let the same mistakes happen again with their current best, the G6. The latest device has seen an altogether different approach which makes it stand out from the current crowd.
The phone offers some pretty decent specifications, with a 5.7 inch screen and an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio, this already has proven how far LG is thinking in this game.
Design
The device offers a sturdy metal frame with a pair of Gorilla glasses : a gorilla glass 3 protection at the front end as well as the camera and a Gorilla glass 5 at the back. Though the phone is prone to fingerprints, it still does not take all the beauty away and one can simply fall in love with this piece of tech with the design it offers.
Though the phone is dust and water resistant, it came at the price of a non removable battery, which is not something new or worth bothering in 2017
Once again, the power button is at the back which doubles as a fingerprint scanner as well. It is quite ergonomically positioned, and is very accurate.
Unlike other manufacturers, LG has decided to keep the 3.5 mm headphone jack which is a good thing to be honest, considering there is limited support for USB-C headphones as of now.
The charging game port, however, is a USB-C type, which sits at the bottom along with a single speaker grill. Ditching the failed concept of volume buttons at the back, LG has finally done it right, with volume keys sitting on the left of the device.
Display
The new 18:9 2:1 aspect ration screen is a pretty interesting choice, and a very good one at that. The phone has a small footprint, meaning there is more screen estate for the user. The bezels are pretty narrow, making it all the way more amazing.
The phone uses an LCD display, which is a QUAD HD one. The display gives a pretty decent 663 nits under direct sunlight, meaning the phone would be far better to use in outdoors than its counterparts.
Even after having an LCD display, the phone offers an Always on display which is a welcome feature.
Performance
The device runs on Snapdragon 821, with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and an Adreno 530 GPU,  nothing less than the current flagships we have in the market, making it an absolute performer. The apps open up in no time, transitions are liquid smooth, and the processor seems to justify any task thrown at it.
Battery
The phone comes equipped with a 3,300 mAh battery which can be a bit of let down, a bigger battery would not have hurt but still, the phone delivers a good amount of time between charges.
Verdict
After so long, LG has come up with a device which impresses, it is, without any doubts, one of the dream phones to go for.
