President of the Talensi Traditional Council and Paramount Chief of the Talensi Traditional Area in the Upper East Region, Tongraan Kugbilsong Nanlebegtang has sue some three persons for defamation.

It is suspected that many more persons will also be sued and served with their suit summons.

This may have become necessary after a grace period given by the Traditional Council and office the paramount chief for some persons who spoke I’ll about the paramount chief in the wake of agitations against him (the Chief) by some “concerned group”, had been ignored.

The paramount chief of Talensi Traditional Area, Tongraan Kugbilsong Nanlebegtang is former Member of Parliament for Talensi and currently a Board Chairman of the Team Oil Refinery. He is still held high for his experience and knowledge in labour issues.

In recent times there have been various attacks on the paramount chief and the Talensi Traditional Council by a group calling itself Concerned Citizens on various subject matters, including the mentioning of the name of the paramount chief in a leaked audio recording and others.

Some young royals linked to Talensi Royal Skin and the Talensi Traditional Council recently expressed their dissatisfaction with some of these comments against Tongraan Kugbilsong Nanlebegtang and the Talensi Traditional Area and both have called on some persons to retract their comments, desist from some acts and apologize for their previous comments.

Will update you as the story unfolds.
