The police have arrested a 30-year-old man suspected to be part of an armed robbery gang who shot and killed a policeman at Kalba in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Northern Region on Good Friday.

An AK 47 assault rifle, a cap gun and two motorbikes suspected to have been used by the robbers in their operations were also retrieved by the police during the arrest.
The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr. Ebenezer Tetteh who confirmed the arrest said Musah and his gang were pursued deep into the bush where he was arrested and the items retrieved were abandoned by the suspected robbers .
He said the police have intensified their search for the rest of the members of the suspected armed robbery gang.
On Friday, a policeman was shot dead by some suspected armed robbers at Kalba.
The officer, Corporal Yaw Lokpao was returning from a night duty to Sawla when he met his untimely death.
The body of the police officer has since been deposited at the Wa government hospital morgue.
