Salaga SHS teacher ‘shoots’ student

The East Gonja District Police have declared one Asuma Sulley, a teacher of Salaga Senior High School wanted after he allegedly shot a student of the school on Saturday.

It is not clear yet, why the teacher shot the student, one Mohammed Abdul-Rauf, 19 but Police have confirmed the student sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Reports say the victim and his colleagues were suspended by the school for smoking wee on campus.
The suspended students were spotted again on campus on Saturday at an entertainment show by the school cadet who called to inform the teacher.
The teacher, Mr. Asuma Sulley rushed to the school but the students had left campus back home, he allegedly traced the students, met them outside campus and fired at them.
Confirming the news to Ghana360news, Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Yussif Tanko said Abdul Rauf, who is a resident of Ngua Mallam, a suburb of Salaga was shot in both legs at about 9:30pm on Saturday by the accused.
He said the victim was rushed to the Salaga District Hospital where he was treated and discharged.
His condition is stable, DSP Yussif Tanko added.
It said efforts are underway to get the alleged teacher apprehended to assist with investigation.
