He bemoaned the fettle we are as people who turn away our own but appreciate strangers more, Mr. Bagbin suggested he was a brother from the same mother which is upper west and even if others claim there is no space, we should try to get a place to perch our own.
Alban talked of how some clauses in the constitution of the party has deprived members of their rightful place when the party gets into power and by this suggested that when he becomes the flagbearer he is going to ensure all hardworking party members reap what they sew instead of allowing opportunists to take over the party during dying minutes.
He concluded by listing some obvious achievements of his since he became Member of Parliament, Minority Leader, Majority Leader, Health Minister to his present state as Second Deputy Speaker:
“Firstly, I championed the relocation of GBC radio Upper West from Upper East in order to champion media priority and decentralisation in Upper West, I also built the fencing wall around it.
Secondly, I paid fees of most Nursing and Teacher Trainees in My District, With most now practitioners.
Thirdly, I brought Jambussie Water project to upper West by changing the location of the project from the top.
Upper West was far below the belt on the priority list of regions to get Access to Water.
The project was due for Upper West Akyem in The Eastern Region but fortunately I was timely to revert the location as minister for Water Resource, Works and housing to Upper West Region. The funding was from Korea in Asia.
Forthly, I contribute Ghc1000 monthly to the Upper West NDC regional office to champion the course of the party regularly.
Lastly, I Paid to bring water to the new upper west regional Library to ensure the library was fully functional.
I don’t enjoy voicing my achievements but most time I hear and see people questioning what I have done in Upper West Since I went to parliament, naturally our culture hides the good things and broadcasts the bad deeds only but I urge you to support me in this course and I won’t disappoint upper West”
