Pharmacy Council Shuts Down Medical Shop Administering Infusion in Tamale

Mr. Mike Ameyaw, the Northern Regional Pharmacy Council Director has revealed the closure of a medical shop located at H/NO. 27 Jonshegu in the Northern Region.

He indicated that the attention of the outfit was drawn to the operations of the said practitioner resulting in closure of  the facility.
According to him, over the counter medical shops are not authorized to administer infusions or admit patients.
“as a Council, we are poised to ensure the medical security and safety of the general public and we will do all that it takes within our powers to deliver on this mandate’.
“They are not even allowed to sell drugs such as antibiotics and the likes but they have it in large
 quantities in their shops,” he said.
The Northern Regional Pharmacy Council Director Mr. Mike Ameyaw warned that any facility operating illegally will be closed down without fear 
or favor.
Meanwhile , challenges facing the operations of the council has been the interference of politicians and Chiefs when their supporters or relations are arrested or shops closed down.
