Bisignamdo D/A Primary School lacks sufficient desks, appeals for more support

There is a challenge with Bisignamdo D/A Primary School, located at Kpassa in the Nkwanta North District, Volta Region, as majority of its students in Primary One (1) are compelled to sit, and lie on the floor to read and write during class hours.
This current situation according to some staff of the school, contributes to a slow enhancement in Teaching and Learning, since students are unable to concentrate in class.
Not just that, this daily ‘ritual’ appears to be causing more harm than good to these young students, considering the health challenge involved.
Speaking to Nambe TV, Francis Gadiga, a National Service Person at the school bemoaned the situation at hand and would want Government and the general public to come to their aid with the provision of more desks for the students.
“Our students are compelled to either lie or sit on the bare floor before they are able to read or write, and this also limits the movement of Teachers.”
Commenting on the issue of class activeness and participation, Francis indicated that, “Teaching and learning becomes very effective only of teachers are able to freely move within the classroom to be able to help some students who find it very difficult to understand what is being taught.”
He is therefore appealing for support from government and the general public to help provide more desks for the students, which is capable of solving their headache.”
“Currently I’m appealing for support from government, the general public or any other benevolent individuals to help get the desks for our students, either through cash or donating some desks to us. By the grace of God, I have gotten some money for a carpenter to start work.”
“…I am hoping that by the end of next week all things being equal, I should be able to raise the rest of the money so I can go for the desks.” He concluded.
