Wa Technical University has held its first ever university graduation on the 14th of November 2020.
The Congregation Chaired by Prof. Daniel Bagah was graced by the Wa Central Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Issahaku Tahiru Moomin on behalf of the Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih.
The Municipal Chief Executive Edged the Institution to Recruit More Staff to Assist in the Running of the Institution whilst he congratulated the graduates for their relentless efforts, he edged the graduates to be job creators and not job seekers.
The Interim Vice Chancellor, Prof Baba Insah also addressed the congregation, he stated that after the Technical University status was attained, backed by Act 2020 (Act 1016), The National Council for Tertiary Education has since completed staff audit in order to be able to migrate qualified staff into the University Pay Structure.
B-Tech Programs
The Interim Vice Chancellor also added that 10 new proposals have been submitted to the NCTE/National Accreditation Board to mount Top-Up and 4-year Bachelor of Technology Mainly in the engineering, applied Science/Arts fields. The School is putting in some finished touches to run at least four B-Tech Programs in Engineering.
