Naara Rural Bank is not affected by license revocation by BoG – Manager

General Manager of Naara Rural Bank in the Upper East Region, Samuel Namoo, has call on the public to disregard any information circulating on social media regarding rural and community banks being part of the 347 micro-finance institutions whose licenses have been revoked.

The General Manager who was shocked to hear such claims from the public said that rural and community banks are purposely meant to help rural people where majority of government interventions are always executed.

“Despite the fact that rural banks are competing with other universal banks, government is directly aware that they deal solely with the local people. We are direct partners of government interventions and always on the top list of achieving our minimum capital requirements. “He said.

Mr. Namoo reiterated that the rural banks including his outfit (Naara Rural Bank ) have met minimum capital requirements and are not part of micro-finance institutions that have had their license revoked.

The General Manager however call on the public to disregard any third party’s information and always come to the rural banks for any enquiries when they are in doubt.
