The Manchester United player has been a part of the Netherlands youth teams over the last few years but the African country are hoping to convince him to switch allegiances
Ghana have approached Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah to try to persuade him to reject Netherlands and represent their national team.
The 18-year-old has impressed at Old Trafford in recent weeks after emerging in the first-team, having made six Premier League appearances as Louis van Gaal has called upon him to fill roles across the defence, though he has generally been used as a defensive midfielder in the youth team.
Fosu-Mensah has become a regular in the Netherlands Under 19 team over the last six months, but is yet to feature for the senior side and, since he has caught the attention of Black Stars coach Avram Grant, they are hoping to pounce on the opportunity and persuade him to play for them.
