Stonebwoy prevented from shooting Shatta at VGMA

Celebrated Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy on Sunday pulled out a gun at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in what seem to be an act of self defence.

Stonebwoy had walked up the stage to receive the Dancehall Artiste of the year in the company of some supporters, personal bodyguards and some Police officers.

Even before the winner of the award was mentioned, the mood on the faces of the two Dancehall artistes said alot about how they both wish to grab the award and also the rivalry between the two.

“… and the VGMA Dancehall Artiste of the Year is Stonebwoy” Abeiku Santana said and soon Stonebwoy and his team marched to the stage to receive the award. This was the fifth time Stonebwoy has been adjudged the Dancehall Artiste of the year.

It is not clear what Shatta Walle and SM fans wanted on the stage and the reason for the misunderstanding between the fans of the two artiste is still mixed up.

Stonebwoy moved away from the action point, walked behind Abeiku Santana with a pistol is his hand. A member of his team held his hand down, probably to prevent him from firing at who ever he was targeting.

The program was halted for some minutes to allow tempers to calm down. The Vodafone Ghana Music Award continued after the chaos and Stonebwoy won another award(Best Collaboration of the Year) and apologized to Ghanaians for the unfortunate incident.
