Dilapidated Sapelliga Health Center poses threats to Staff and Clients

The Sapelliga Health Center in the Bawku West District in the Upper East Region, built in 2010 has not seen any renovation and as a result, it is fast deteriorating.

The facility provides health care services to the Sapelliga community and other surrounding ones, including parts of Burkina-Faso.
Unfortunately, deep cracks on the walls and exposed rusted iron rods are scaring staff, thereby hindering health delivery.
A Senior Nurse in charge of the facility, Anabila Daniel, who spoke exclusively to A1 News expressed fear that, the Health Center could one day collapse on patients and staff, if authorities fail to renovate it as soon as possible.
“We are worried that, if care is not taken, one day, it will fall down on the patients and us. The safety of our staff and clients is not guaranteed.”
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Zebilla Constituency and Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, Frank Fuseini Adongo has indicated that, measures have been put in place by the Bawku West District Assembly to renovate the facility by the first quarter of 2019.
“We are going to pay attention to Sapelliga Health Center to see how we can give it a good facelift”
