Canadian think tank's rating of Akuffo Addo is a fallacy – James Agalga

Member of Parliament for Builsa North Constituency in the Upper East Region, James Agalga has rated the President Nana Akuffo Addo’s administration as most corrupt regime the country has ever seen since attaining independence.

According to him, the Canadian think tank’s rating of the President as the best President in Africa is fallacious and should not be taken serious by Ghanaian because corruption is eating up the country’s resources.

“There are existence of evidence to show that the President is no near fighting corruption in this country apart from witch hurting NDC members. In fact, the issues regarding the newly appointed Board Chairman of the GRA Board tells it all.”

He made these comments on A1 Radio’s Morning Show, where he also spoke about job creation and provision of infrastructure. According to James Agalga the pervious administration did well in terms of providing jobs and infrastructure for Ghanaian.

“Under the watch of NDC, fertilizers were distributed free to farmers, but here we are, farmers are buying fertilizers which some can not even pay for a bag. Look at the Army Worms issues which they claim they fought, it is still rearing it ugly head to various farms.” He said.

The MP, however declined to state the number of jobs he has provided for the teaming youth in his constituency at the time he was appointed as the Deputy Interior Minister.

“The fact is that it not the core mandate for legislators to provide jobs for youth and we expect the media to disseminate such information to the public. But I have done a lot to provide jobs for the youth in my area.” He said.
