Forestry Commission seeks public support to change Bolgatanga Forest reserves to stress management zone

The Bolgatanga District Manager of the Forestry Commission, Prince Osei Yeboah has called on all and sundry within the Upper East Region to support his outfit to carry out its agenda of changing the town forestry reserves into a stress free management zones and libraries for learning.

His call falls on the backdrop of the fast deterioration of forest reserves within the regional capital, Bolgatanga.

“…the two reserves in the town; that is the one beside the Bolgatanga Municipal Assemble and other at the back of the Assemble will be worked on, hopefully, this year, and I can assure all and sundry that, with their supports, we are going to change those reserves to stress free zone where people can relax and learn one or two things from nature.” He assured.

Mr. Yeboah made this known in an exclusive interview with A1 Radio, where he expressed optimism that the Youth in Afforestation Programme under the Youth Employment Agency will be a success.

“…the feedback that our outfit is getting from various chiefs and opinion leaders in different communities indicate that the afforestation programme is chalking success.” He added.
