Police arrest one over murder and secret burial of Fulani man

Police in the Northern Region has arrested one person in connection with the murder and secret burial of a Fulani man.
Police reports said the crime was committed on 16th March 2019 at Saboba when the deceased had gone to fetch water from a nearby stream.
The deceased, Sondey Umaru, aged 48 reportedly lives at the Jerlijado village with his family went to fetch water from the stream which was near the farm of a Konkomba man.
The suspect, “who is yet to be identified, killed the Fulani man with a gun and buried the body near the stream,” the police explained.
It added that “a Fulani woman Ayishietu Isahaku who was also fetching water at the stream saw the act and reported the matter to the deceased elder brother Alhaji Tijani who also reported to the Assemblyman of the Area [o ne] Hon.Titus, The Assemblyman also reported same to police Joint police and military team led by the District commander ASP Mr Alex Nyankra Yagane.”
The officers went to the village and met with the elder brother of the deceased, who led the team to the place where the body of the deceased was buried.
The three persons were subsequently instructed by the police to report the matter to the District Headquarter on  March 25, 2019, to assist police in investigation.
