Upper East Regional House of Chiefs receives major facelift

Members of Upper East Regional House of Chiefs can now have the comfort to deliberate on chieftaincy matters in a cozy conference room, renovated by the Regional Coordinating Council led by the Regional Minister, Paulina Patience Abayage.

The House of Chiefs which was built decades ago has never seen any major renovation until now. Members of the House were without option than to sit for meetings in the dilapidated conference hall which leaks anytime it rained heavily.

The conference hall until now had only a few functioning ceiling fans talk less a single air-condition system to suit the status of paramouncies.

The situation was unbearable for the chiefs especially in the heat season due to the about 2 to 3 smocks they don at a time for meetings as tradition demands. But their plight is now a thing over as a renovated Regional House of Chiefs was handed to them on Monday by the Regional Minister.

Receiving the gesture of behalf of members of the House, Paramount Chief of Bongo, Naba Baba Salifu Lemyaarum who doubles Vice President of the House, thanked the minister for fulfilling a pledge which she promised to renovate the House during her first time visit to them in December 2018.

Aside renovating the entire building, the minister handed over a public address system, 5 split unit air-conditioners fully installed and 11 installed ceiling fans to members of the standing committee of House.

Madam Paulina said the gesture seeks to add value to the status of chiefs in the region. She pledged her support to the chiefs to ensure that all that is needed for them to have a befitting House will be provided at an opportune time.
