Ghanaian Musician and Songwriter, Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong, known in the Music Industry as Becca, believes that the appearance of a celebrity is very important in building the brand of that person.
According to Becca, the support base of celebrities, especially those in the Music and Acting Industries come from various backgrounds and so it will be appropriate to appear in an image that is appropriate to their settings so as to gain their trust and get them to respect and love them more.
She was speaking on Bolgatanga based A1Radio, on the Work and Happiness brunch show with Priscilla Asapoka on her new single release “Driving license” which she featured Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.
In her view, if a celebrity is performing in his or her zone, he or she can appear in a way that suits him or her and marches with the brand he or she has created for him or herself, but it will be appropriate to appear in a way that conforms with the dress code of fans in a certain group, so that they can feel free to relate comfortably.
“You should know what to wear to church, for courtesy calls, to perform at shows and other places. It becomes easier for fans and other personalities to relate comfortably and see you as part of them in their setting.”
Despite Becca being a mother, she likes to show her “tummy” in her dress code and asked the secret behind that, Becca said she feels comfortable in that dress code and also loves to show her flat “tummy” even after giving birth.
However, she gave the indication that, she will dress differently if she is to be in a different setting that requires that she cover her “tummy”.
There is an ongoing discussion on social media about how Musician Wendy Shay dressed to meet for former President John Agyekum Kufuor in the company of other National Youth Employment Ambassadors.
Wendy Shay has also through the same social media said she is still growing and has more to learn and against this background, it will be appropriate to learn something from Becca.
