Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has donated an amount of GHc10,000.00 to Fountain Gate Chapel as his contribution to support the Churchs Social Intervention Projects in 2019.
Dr. Bawumia called the Church and other religious bodies to see their contribution to National Development as service to God, which equally attracts blessings and rewards from God.
The Vice President made the call at the annual Foundation Night Programme of the Fountain Gate Chapel, in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region. The Programme is meant to usher members and non-members of the Church into a New Year and motivating them make positive declarations and resolutions for the New Year. This years Foundation Night was under the theme: “As You Journey with the Lord, You Are a Vessel.”
Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia used the occasion to challenge Traditional Authorities and all other well-meaning people in the Upper East to continue to leave in peace even in the face of provocation and difficult times that may arise in the course of the year 2019.
In his view, this is one sure way to sustain the level of peace the Bolgatanga Municipality and the entire region have enjoyed over the years.
He was happy that, the region for many years has been noted to be a peaceful place, which he said is good for development and investment.
Speaking in contrast to public perception about Politicians, Vice President, Dr. Bawumia noted that Politicians also worship God and fear him just like Pastors and all Christians do on Sundays and other days. He urged not to see Politicians as evil, but people who are working like any other group of people do.
“We should never underestimate the power of God and we should always thank Him for what he has done in our lives. We as politicians, also observe the 10 Commandments diligently because God is our maker. As we all know, we have a beautiful country which also deserve peace and stability, therefore, I entreat the good people of Ghana to always work to preserve the existing peace across the country for sustainable development. Dr. Bawumia said.
The Vice President was accompanied to the Foundation Night by the Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Patience Abayage, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Anthony Namoo and other appointees in the region.
