Black Queens return to Ghana with Bronze from Wafu Zone B tournament

Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo and the entire Black Queens team went into the tournament with the sole aim of winning the ultimate as they won in the first edition in 2018.

Luck however eluded them this time as the Super Falcons of Nigeria denied them the opportunity to make it into the finals, beating them on penalties, when the full duration of the game ended goalless.

Ghana after lossing out on the ultimate, the queens turned their attention no the Bronze Medal since that was the only “big” thing left for them. They met Malian team, which the Ghanaian Coach had earlier described as not strong enough for the queens. The Black Queen did the needful to come third in the tournament.

After winning Bronze at the 2019 edition of the Wafu Zone B Tournament, the Queens have arrived in Ghana with heads up high because the have something to show for participating in the competition.
