Upper East NPP Goes To Court To Challenge Election Of Pusiga MP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Pusiga Constituency in the Upper East Region in the December 7, 2021 elections, Abdul-Karim Zanni Dubiure, is challenging the election of Laadi Ayii Ayamba as Member of Parliament (MP) for the Constituency.

Mr. Dubiure in an appeal documented at the Bolgatanga High Court on Friday, January 8, 2021, guaranteed there were episodes of over-casting a ballot in certain polling stations.

The suit recorded had the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) and Madam Ayamba of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the respondents.

Madam Ayamba was given 8 days to record a notification of appearance to the request documented in the Bolgatanga High Court.

As indicated by the political decision results announced by the EC, Madam Ayamba pulled 14,929 of the all out votes cast whiles Mr. Dubiure had 14,866 votes.

Madam Ayamba has as of now been sworn in as MP for Pusiga; going for her third term.
