Give NDC credit for Planting for Food and Jobs programme- Joshua Akamba

Government’s flagship programme, Planting for Food and Jobs which aims at subsidizing fertilizer for farmers across the country to boost food production and job creation, is under attack by the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC).

The opposition party argues that the intended purpose for which the erstwhile John Mahama administration secured funds from the Canadian government, for improved agriculture has been misapplied by the current administration.

The NDC claims that they secured funds before it exited power, but the current government has created the impression that, it was the brain behind the Canadian Fund.

National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Joshua Akamba made this demand in an interview on A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper East with Samuel Mbura.

However, Upper East Regional Communications Director of the running New Patriotic Party, Sanusi Issah urged the public to ignore Joshua Akamba and the NDC because it is a party that majors in hypocrisy.

According to him, the NDC from the beginning of the Planting for Food and Jobs programme has been saying and insisted that it will not succeed.

“… now that the programme is doing well and farmers and the general public is benefiting from it, they are claiming ownership of the programme. This is what they do.”
