Eleven students of Wa Technical Institute in Upper West have been suspended indefinitely on the 4th of August 2020 for breaking school rules and regulations.
According to the school’s principal, Saaka Adams, the students went home without signing an exeat whilst others were spotted with mobile phones, this development according to him has been a challenge with final year students due for completion, he suggested the action will serve as a deterrent to other students premeditating such acts.
The reported students will be writing their exams from home as their suspension prohibits them from staying or engaging in any campus activity.
The Director General of Education, Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwah in a statement on Thursday 6th August 2020 advocated for students who abuse school regulation to be suspended to serve as a deterrent to other students.
In a similar development, 14 Students of senior high schools including secondi College, Battor SHS, Juaben SHS and Tweneboah Kpoduah SHS have been sacked and prohibited from writing their final WASSCE exams for exhibition of misconduct, these students destroyed school’s properties.
